Rev. Bert L. Jones
Bert Jones is the President & CEO of GO InterNational located in Wilmore, Kentucky. GO InterNational is a world-wide mission ministry with a focus on helping people pursue their passion for fulfilling the Great Commission. GO InterNational is active in short term missions, church planting, evangelism, leadership training, and ministry to children in crisis around the globe. Since 1969 GO has been forming strategic partnerships with vibrant local ministries to meet the needs of the poor and the lost.
In 2006 Bert was asked by the Board of directors to return to the ministry where he had served as an associate evangelist and mission team leader from 1994-1998. In March of 2007 Bert became the 3rd President of GO InterNational.
In addition to providing leadership & vision to the ministry of GO InterNational, Bert travels across the United States and around the world preaching, challenging people to consider mission opportunities, leading mission teams, teaching and speaking at Church services, revivals, mission conferences, colleges, retreats, & camp meetings. Since 1988 Bert has led multiple teams nationally & internationally. He has traveled internationally to Jamaica, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Russia, India, Nicaragua, Kenya, Uruguay, & Colombia.
Bert is also active in speaking at leadership training events and conferences on the many aspects of Biblical leadership. In 2008 Bert helped establish the GO Institute for InterNational leadership which provides mentoring in leadership for college and graduate students. The program is designed to teach Biblical leadership, provide internship opportunity in the context of an International ministry as well as give students hands on mission field experience in short term or long term settings.
Bert serves as the Lead Pastor of the Wilmore Community Missionary Church where he preaches and gives leadership when he is not traveling. Bert holds his ordination through the Missionary Church USA. The Missionary Church is an evangelical denomination committed to Church planting and world missions.
Prior to taking on leadership at GO InterNational, Bert served full time at the Christian Medical and Dental Associations in Bristol, Tennessee as the Director of Leadership & Church Ministries, Chaplain & Special Assistant to the CEO. Bert continues his relationship with the CMDA today as a preacher and conference speaker in the area of Leadership & Church Ministries. GO InterNational and CMDA have formed a strategic partnership in the area of missions & evangelism which provides a stronger network for impacting the world for Christ. (www.cmda.org)
Bert served from 1998-2004 as the founder & Lead Pastor at Harvest Community Church, “A Community Church with a world-wide vision.” Bert spoke each week as the principle communicator on “The Source,” a weekly radio ministry on WORD FM in Pittsburgh, PA.
Bert grew up as no stranger to the ministry & evangelism. His father and grandfather were both involved in full-time ministry and evangelism. Bert grew up traveling with his family in music and evangelistic ministries. Bert was active in their family radio ministry that was on the air for over 50 years on more than 50 different radio stations around the country (a ministry that his grandparents started). His grandmother was the author of the song In Times Like These.
Bert graduated from Asbury University in 1989 with a degree in Bible. While attending Asbury Bert traveled extensively on weekends and summers around the United States on music and ministry teams representing the college and ministering in churches.
While serving as a Pastor at the Union Avenue United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania, Bert attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA for two years.
Bert and his wife Cheryl have been married since 1989 and have three children actively involved in their ministry: Joshua, Allyson and Aaron.
